Deep within an ancient forest, where the leylines of the world intertwined beneath the soil, stood a great oak older than memory itself. And on a storm-ridden night long ago, from that oak, a Treant was born. His name was Thorn.

From the moment he first opened his eyes beneath the rain and thunder, Thorn understood that the forest needed a guardian. So through the passing years, he watched over the woods in silence, protecting wandering travelers, guiding lost creatures, and driving away those who sought to harm the ancient grove.

Many people passed through Thorn’s forest over the centuries, but none fascinated him quite like the well-to-do folk. They traveled in elegant cloaks and polished boots, carrying themselves with an air of confidence and importance. Yet it was their top hats that captured Thorn’s attention most of all.

And so, determined to embody such distinguished fashion himself, Thorn carefully wove together vines, bark fibers, and the stems of surrounding plants until he had crafted a splendid top hat of his very own.

With great pride, Thorn placed it atop his head, and from that day onward, the forest had not only a guardian… but a remarkably well-dressed one.
