FANCY DICE · SHOP WITH CONFIDENCE
Privacy notice
How information is used when you shop, claim a set or build your collection.
Updated 4 November 2026.
Optional address search
When enabled, address search uses Google Maps to suggest South African addresses. Typing in the separate search field sends your search text and a temporary search-session identifier to Google; selecting a suggestion sends its place identifier to retrieve address fields. Recipient names, telephone numbers and apartment details from the delivery form are not included in these search requests. Manual entry is always available.
Google processes these requests under its Privacy Policy. Search suggestions, place identifiers and raw Google responses are not stored in the Fancy Dice database or browser storage. Selecting a suggestion fills the editable delivery form. It does not automatically save an address to your profile; you choose whether to save it to your address book. Saved delivery details can then be reused for your future orders. Delivery details remain editable and must be checked; a suggestion does not verify courier deliverability.
Who is responsible
Fancy Dice is a brand of The Fancy Gadgeteer (Pty) Ltd, registration 2024/381827/07, the responsible party for this website. Information Officer: Craig Baker. Privacy requests: privacy@fancydice.co.za. Shop support: shop@fancydice.co.za. Telephone: +27 68 682 7297. Our business and legal-service address is available on the Business & contact details page.
Information we use
Shopping and delivery use your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, order details, payment status and transaction references. Gift vouchers also use the recipient details and message provided by the purchaser. Provide someone else’s information only when you are authorised to do so.
Accounts hold your profile, protected sign-in records, claimed sets, ownership and reward history, reviews, transfer requests and subscription instructions. Return or transfer evidence may include photographs and correspondence. For an ordinary return or transfer, include only relevant evidence and avoid identity documents, faces and unrelated personal details. Staff-assisted account recovery has separate identity checks, described below.
Security and diagnostic records can include an IP address, request time and technical browser information. An IP address is not proof of someone’s identity or physical location. Suspicious ownership activity may be reviewed by staff.
Sign-in and account recovery
Continue with Google or an emailed sign-in link for a new or existing account. Successful verification creates an account if needed and can reconnect a matching existing account. Guest checkout remains available. Merely entering an email or placing a guest order does not create an account or prove ownership of existing orders.
Optional passkeys use your device, security key or password manager to authenticate. Fancy Dice stores credential and public-key records, not your fingerprint, facial scan or device unlock PIN. Your customer sign-in lasts 30 days unless you sign out or the session is revoked. Recovery email settings are separate from delivery contacts; WhatsApp recovery is not available at launch.
If every sign-in and verified recovery method is lost, contact support for a staff-reviewed recovery case. Staff require a photo showing you, identification with your name and a handwritten current date; other identification details can be covered. We also review a set’s QR proof when available. Provide this evidence only through the private process staff arrange. Approval still requires verification of the replacement email and revokes old sign-in methods and sessions.
Why we use it
We use information to fulfil your requests and purchases, manage deliveries and refunds, authenticate accounts, provide collection benefits, prevent repeated physical reward claims and investigate abuse. We also keep records needed for accounting, legal obligations and resolving disputes.
Google Analytics 4 is available with your Analytics consent to help us understand visits and shopping activity. Google Ads, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel are available separately with your Marketing consent to measure and improve our advertising on Google, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Both choices are off until you explicitly choose them in Cookie settings. Buying a product, opening an account or accepting shop terms does not grant either choice. Order and account messages are service communications.
Marketing email campaigns and abandoned-cart marketing emails are not enabled. Cookie consent does not subscribe you to marketing email. Essential emails, including sign-in links, account-security notices, payment updates and order confirmations or tracking, support the service you request and do not enrol you in marketing.
Optional analytics and advertising
With Analytics consent, Google receives permitted public-page visits and shopping events through Google Analytics 4. With Marketing consent, Google receives a confirmed paid purchase through Google Ads conversion tracking, and Meta and TikTok receive those events through Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel; each may associate that activity with information it holds, including your Google, Facebook, Instagram or TikTok account. Events can include viewed products, items added to a basket, starting checkout and a confirmed paid purchase, with product identifiers, quantities, currency and value. These requests also provide technical browser or device information and connection information such as your IP address. Google Tag Manager loads the selected services only after an optional choice is granted.
Account, sign-in, ownership-claim, staff and private order or payment-return pages do not run optional tracking. Personal checkout fields are not tracked; a paid purchase is measured only on a separate confirmation page after server verification. Automatic subscription renewals are not reported as new browser purchases. We do not send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, delivery addresses, identity or banking details, form contents, sign-in links, ownership QR secrets or private order-access codes to these services. Enhanced or advanced matching and session recording are not enabled. Google Analytics does not receive cookieless measurement pings while Analytics consent is declined.
After the relevant consent, approved campaign parameters and advertising click identifiers on public landing pages may be processed to understand which advertising brought you here. Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel can receive a public page address containing only validated campaign parameters or advertising click identifiers, such as utm_source, gclid or fbclid; fragments are never included. Optional tracking is blocked on addresses containing unexpected query parameters, private access codes or fragments; arbitrary search text and personal fields are not passed through.
You can allow Analytics and Marketing separately, reject both, or change your mind through Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawing a choice stops future tracking for that category and clears the related cookies that our site can access; the page reloads to stop previously loaded tags. This does not delete information already received by a provider. The Cookies & browser storage notice explains the storage and your controls.
Sharing and service providers
Cloudflare hosts the site, data, images and private uploads and provides transactional email and security services. Staff access is restricted. Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical browser and connection information when you choose the verification used to reveal our business address; that check is separate from optional advertising or analytics.
Payfast and Paystack process the checkout payment methods shown as available; Paystack handles recurring subscription payments. Providers receive information needed for the payment and report its status to us. We store payment references and protected subscription-authorisation records where needed, rather than your full card number or security code. Staff will not ask for your card PIN, banking password or one-time password.
We give relevant delivery details to Bobgo and the selected courier to arrange and track your parcel. Shipments are booked by staff. Google receives the information needed when you choose Google sign-in or the optional Google Maps address search described above.
Our hosting, sign-in, payment and delivery providers, and Google, Meta and TikTok when you allow the relevant optional tracking, may process information outside South Africa. Contact privacy@fancydice.co.za for information about the relevant providers and cross-border safeguards. We do not sell your personal information.
Visibility and retention
Published reviews are public. Private delivery details, banking details, ownership QR secrets and uploaded dispute evidence are not intended for publication. Staff access is limited by role and function.
We retain order, financial, ownership and case history for their purposes and applicable legal obligations, then delete or de-identify information when appropriate. An account-deletion request does not automatically erase records needed for accounting, unresolved disputes or preventing repeated physical reward claims.
Private identity photos for staff-assisted account recovery are deleted 30 days after the recovery case closes. Refund banking details are encrypted, belong only to the specific refund case and are deleted 30 days after that case closes; they do not become a reusable banking profile in your account. Case decisions and audit history can remain without the deleted photo or banking payload.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, or deletion where legally applicable, and object to certain processing. We may ask for proportionate proof of identity before acting. Withdrawing optional consent applies to future processing and does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.
Use Cookie settings to change browser-storage preferences. Essential functionality remains available when optional services are declined. You may also complain to South Africa’s Information Regulator; the official contact link appears below.
